A new construction project will restrict parking, affect bus access at SMU/Mockingbird Station.
A major transit-oriented development (TOD) project is set to begin this fall at SMU/Mockingbird Station.
The construction project will take place in phases. Phase 1 will effectively close Worcola Street between SMU Boulevard and Mockingbird Lane, impacting bus flow to and from the station. In addition, the parking area will be reduced to 160 spaces.
Current bus boarding areas and GoLink and Paratrransit pick-up locations will not be impacted.
Routes 3, 17, and 440 which have stops on Worcola Street, will be detoured to temporary stops on nearby streets. Routes 205, 209 and 249 will be unaffected.
BUS STOP RELOCATIONS
Worcola Street Northbound: Routes 3, 17, 440
• Stop #23376 moves 200 ft. eastbound on SMU Boulevard.
• Stop #27428 relocates to Twin Sixties Drive traveling westbound.
• Stop #28450 remains on Worcola Street but moves west prior to left turn on westbound Twin Sixties Drive.
Worcola Street Southbound: Routes 17, 440
• Stop #23375 moves to Greenville Avenue.
• Stop #27222 is temporarily closed.
• Stop #27427 moves to Greenville Avenue Stop #23441, (sharing stop with Route 3).
SMU Boulevard Westbound: Route 440
• Stop #26521 moves across North Central Expressway.
Look for temporary stops marked with freestanding bus stop signs. These changes will be effective during the first phase of construction (roughly from Oct. 20 through December 2025).
Please be patient with the noise and debris around the station while we work with our development partners to revitalize the area.
