SMU Centennial Homecoming

As chair of SMU's Alumni Board, it is my honor to invite you to the Hilltop for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. In conjunction with this year's Homecoming festivities September 23–26, SMU will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the University's opening in 1915.

If you have been contemplating a return to your alma mater, the final Homecoming of The Second Century Celebration is one you don't want to miss. Preparations are under way for the biggest Homecoming ever, with a range of special activities and gatherings that will enable you to re-engage with the academic life of SMU, reconnect with friends and commemorate the Year of the Student, 100 years after SMU opened the doors to its first class.

The weekend begins with a Centennial Countdown Concert in Moody Coliseum, features a special lighting of Dallas Hall in a new SMU tradition and ends with a birthday fireworks extravaganza following the SMU vs. James Madison University football game in Gerald J. Ford Stadium. A historic midday celebration of SMU's centennial, Homecoming parade pageantry, pregame fun on The Boulevard and a variety of other gatherings, events and exhibitions also will be part of this exciting Homecoming. A special thank you goes to the student leaders who helped plan this year's activities.

While you're on campus, you can also get a sense of the remarkable transformation and momentum propelling SMU to an extraordinary second century.

Please join us for what is certain to be an unforgettable celebration at a unique time in SMU history. I look forward to seeing you.
